Summer Update

IFS (internal family systems) is changing my life - from the inside out.  Let’s face it: Being human on earth can often feel like a dense, challenging experience. My meat suit is quite healthy and I still experience big challenges. A basic tenant of Buddhism is that life is suffering. IFS is much more than sitting in a therapist's office and talking. It's a way to use the suffering inherent in life as compost to make figurative flowers bloom and grow the best vegetables ever. It's all about mindfulness. I have found it to be a way to take my yoga and meditation practice off the mat - pillow and discover a more conscious, courageous, curious and collaborative version of myself.

In this culture, it's common to focus on changing our external stimulus in an attempt to improve the internal environment. It's so common for people to think "If I only had that new car (or house or partner, etc.), .....THEN I would be happy."  Nothing outside of ourselves will bring lasting happiness.  A new car can definitely bring a temporary high or dopamine hit...probably many.  Once the new car smell fades, so does the happiness it brings.  It is possible to consistently expand into liberation, expansive joy and bliss by cleaning up internally and allowing our true selves to be in charge of our lives.

Mercy B is one of my best friends.  She turned me on to IFS by totally transforming her life with it.  We met about 15 years ago at Breitenbush Hot Springs.  We quickly bonded over our love of health, mindfulness and yoga.  Over the years we have become family.  The tide rises collectively and I'm deeply grateful for the compassionate and generous way Mercy coaches and teaches me the art of Internal Family Systems.

We taught a workshop together in June and it was lovely. Now we've fine tuned things and would love to have you join us at the exclusive event:

I'm also super excited to share that Kristi, Kevin and I will be leading our second retreat, "Power of LOVE" at Breitenbush Hot springs from November 20-24! We will have a link to register soon. The first retreat was in late May - early June and it sold out quickly. We're expecting this one to do the same, so keep your eyes open for the link to sign up. Check out some photos below from this past May!
